This weekend I had the pleasure of family photo shoot with Snook and Gregson children and their chocolate Labrador Frankie. Gilly had entered my Norwich family photography giveaway and she wanted some photos her children together with their cousins and pet dog Frankie. Over the years I’ve photographed both families, but separately, so this would be a chance to capture the cousins together. It was great to see them all again as I hadn’t seen some of them for a few months. We’d also had to reschedule the session as the initial planned date was a wash out and it rained all day.
We headed out to Marston Marshes on the outskirts of Norwich for what turned out to be a slightly longer than anticipated family photography session. The Marshes are popular with dog walkers and runners and I already knew the area quite well. The wide open spaces and overcast sky resulted in a lovely soft light with hardly any harsh shadows; perfect for children’s portrait photography.
We walked, chatted, skipped stones in the river and played hide and seek in the reeds which allowed me to get some really relaxed and candid shots of the children at play. It was difficult but I’ve chosen these 6 images as my favourites from the session.
