Lauren and Ian’s wedding at The Norfolk Mead Hotel was one of the highlights of my summer. I got to know Lauren and Ian through a recommendation from Hannah and David, whose wedding I’d just photographed. Personal recommendations like this mean a huge amount to me. Not only are my couples extremely happy with me and my work, but one amazing wedding leads to another! You must check out Hannah and David’s wedding after this.
Lauren and Ian’s wedding plans sounded great and we all got along so well at our initial meeting. Their engagement session was booked for early Spring and it was an absolute dream. We started at some church ruins along the Norfolk coast. It was bitterly cold but there was good light and we soldiered through it and took refuge in the beach cafe for some much needed coffee and cake! Then we ventured onto the beach for some more photos. The two hour session felt like 15 minutes. They were both so natural and we came away with some really wonderful images.
From the success of the engagement session I just knew this was going to be an incredible wedding. Right from the start at Lauren’s family home I was taken in as one of the wedding party and this resulted in really natural wedding photographs. They’d themed their wedding beautifully and they looked utterly gorgeous together.
Weddings at The Norfolk Mead Hotel are always expertly run and this was no exception. Everything was beautifully laid out from the moment I got there and the day ran like clockwork. Their wedding breakfast meal was a BBQ served on the lawn. There was so much choice and it was beautifully presented, as you’d expect. It was utterly delicious and had many guests coming back for seconds. And the deserts were fantastic too.
There’s often some fun shenanigans at a wedding and this started off with a bucket load of confetti dumped on Lauren and later in the evening Ian being hoisted aloft by his friends, and then having his shoe laces tied together, unbeknown to him!
I could go on an on about this wedding but I’ll let the photos do the talking from here. Here’s a look in to their lovely wedding at The Norfolk Mead Hotel.
