A wonderfully bright and warm Spring day and The White Hart Essex Wedding Venue was my destination. This year I’m second shooting a number of weddings for the very talented Hillier James Photography and this was our first Essex wedding venue together for the year. We’d photographed together last year and we have a great working partnership.
I started the morning off with Michael and his groomsmen whom were getting ready in The White Hart hotel rooms. I could tell how nervous they were and a few visits to the bar was helping settle them.
They’d all had showers and were turning out great in their striking blue suits and matching brown shoes. Michael gave numerous lessons on how to tie a Windsor knot but ended up tying them all anyway. Thirty minutes later everyone was suited and booted and we headed to the beer garden, settling more nerves, telling stories and practicing speeches. Followed by more nerve settling visits to the bar. It was lovely to have this time with the boys in the glorious sunshine.
The guests arrived and it was soon time to head into the Essex barn for the ceremony and a few couple shots with just Kate and Michael in the gardens afterwards. Kate had a surprise up her sleeve for the wedding breakfast and I only found out about it an hour before the surprise went off. She’d booked the incredibly talented singing waiters who had sneaked into the service just after the ceremony. They were in full uniform (disguise) and had been serving food and drinks to the whole wedding party alongside The White Hart staff since the Ceremony! Just before dessert was served they broke their cover and performed 6 or so hilarious songs that had everyone in stitches and baying for more.
This set the tone for the rest of the afternoon with lots of fun and laughter in the fabulous evening sun. Kate’s bouquet toss was epic with her first attempt completely clearing the waiting bouquet catchers! The evening band kicked off their first dance and and had everyone dancing till well after we’d left.
Here’s what I captured of Kate and Michael’s fantastic Essex wedding.
The White Hart Essex wedding venue was an absolute blast to work at. All the staff were incredibly helpful and I can’t wait to shoot there again.
I hope you love these images as much I do. You can find out a bit more about me, my style and approach to wedding photography. If you like what you see please get in touch, I’d love to photograph your wedding.
